*Updated 2019* How to Change the End Screen on your Vimeo Videos

Posted by Peter Stassa on Jan 2, 2018 10:00:00 AM

An "end screen" is what will show up after your embedded video finishes playing. Rather than having the video go to a blank screen or back to the thumbnail image, adding a custom end screen will help you drive engagement and conversions by letting your viewers know where to go next.

On Vimeo, you can use your video's end screen to:

• Direct the viewer to other videos you'd like them to watch
• Add a call to action to send them to a specific webpage
• Encourage them to share your video on social media and through email
• Collect their email address to add to your mailing list
• Add a custom image or text
• Set your video to loop

*Updated 2019* How to add captions to your online videos and why you should

Posted by Peter Stassa on Nov 30, 2017 2:37:20 PM

Adding captions is an important part of producing online video. Not only do captions help with accessibility for viewers who are deaf or hard of hearing, but they also help your videos get more views.

How does adding captions get my video more views?

Search engines like Google can't listen to the audio in your video. Instead they crawl the video looking for text in order to determine the content and display it in the appropriate search results. They find this text in the description and tags that you've added, as well as in the caption file if you've added one.

If you have watched any videos on YouTube, you've probably noticed that when the video you are watching ends, either a screen will come up with a bunch of "related video" thumbnails, or a "related video" will just automatically start playing after ten seconds unless you click cancel.

Using video can boost your business inside and out... if you do it right.

In our last post, we talked about why you should consider using video as part of your marketing strategy and why shooting your own videos with a smartphone is a bad idea. Today we'll continue our review of questions clients often ask about how to use video effectively.

1. “What kind of video should I post on my website?”

How to Use Video to Boost Your BusinessPeople go to the internet for information and they'll spend more time watching videos that provide useful information and advice instead of just beating them over the head with a sales pitch.

Post some video tips on the things to look for when shopping for your product or service, or short how to videos for simple procedures consumers can do on their own. Another video might help consumers recognize a situation in which it would be better to call in a professional.

How to Use Video to Boost Your Business Inside and Out

Posted by Peter Stassa on Jul 14, 2015 11:32:00 AM

Using video can boost your business inside and out... if you do it right.

Today we'll begin a series of posts featuring some of the questions we hear from prospective clients about why they should use video and how to use it correctly.

1. “Why should I consider using video as part of my marketing strategy?”

Because it works. Consider these highlights from an article by DigitalSherpa

  • Videos increase people’s understanding of your product or service by 74%
  • Click-through rates increase 23 times when marketers include a video in an email
  • 80% of your online visitors will watch a video, while only 20 percent will actually read content in its entirety

With a video, people can SEE what your product does and watch your people performing a service. They'll pay closer attention and retain more of the content than if they had to read a written description. This holds true whether the content is about a product, a service, or a process.
